Tec Sidemount Diver

Tec Sidemount offers the same benefits as the PADI Sidemount Diver course but gives you the opportunity to dive with 2+ cylinders for extended dive times.  However this is not a decompression course and does not train you in these procedures.

Prerequisites: 
  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization
  • Have logged 30 or more dives
  • At least 18 years old
  • Certification as a PADI Enriched Air Diver is recommended
Equipment Required: 
  • Two first and second stage regulators with SPG for configured for sidemount
    • One with a seven foot hose for air sharing
  • Two deco regulators, SPG & staging kit – properly labeled
  • Approved sidemount harness (dual bladder or dual wings unless drysuit diving)
  • Dive computer (single or multi-gas), and either back-up computer or timer & depth gauge
  • Back-up decompression information (computer, dive tables, etc.)
  • Exposure protection (dry suit use requires prior dry suit diving experience)
  • Weight system (if needed)
  • Lights as necessary, including primary and backup
  • Jon line (for current diving environments)
  • Two Slates (1 wrist-type)
  • Z-knife and back-up cutting device
  • Spare clips, pull-ties, tank wrap bands & other rigging accessories

Course Structure: 

Classroom theory, equipment workshop and skills training. Open Water dive (3 dives), Open water dive, advanced classroom theory and skills training. Open Water dive (2 dives)
